Greg Holden played on August 11, 2010. He had just returned from London the day before, and drove up from NYC to perform for us. He sounded great, and we loved meeting him and having him play for Concerts on the Common.
Michael Johnson played on August 4, 2010. Michael performed many songs, singing and playing his nylon string guitar beautifully for us. It was a real treat to have such a talented musician playing on the Common!
The Robinson Bros. and Friends played on July 28, 2010. The small jazz combo was made up of George Robinson on drums, Chris Robinson on bass, The Ross Daly on trombone, and George Weithman on tenor sax. Three of the four members are Londonderry High School alumni, and are now studying music in their respective colleges. They played an evening of jazz standards, with great solos all around.
Liz Longley played on July 21, 2010, returning to play again for the second season in a row. We were in the gym because of the weather, and it was a bit hot there (you can hear the fans running), but it all worked out. Liz was very gracious about our “Concert in the Gym”. She sang some new and old songs, and even a couple of covers. Incredibly, Liz was even better than last year! Here are two songs, with more for you on our LondonderryCulture YouTube channel.
Brian Templeton and his band played on July 14, 2010, and what a concert it was! We were almost pushed into the gym by the weather, but at the last minute we went for the Common. No rain! Brian and company were just outstanding. Here are a couple of great songs, with more for you on our LondonderryCulture YouTube channel.
The Procrastinators played on June 30, 2010, during the LHS Night. They performed a number of Green Day covers and original tunes. A tight band! Here are two songs from the show, “Walking on Air” and “Rescue Me”, both original tunes:
Andy Lee played on June 30, 2010, during the LHS Night. He did a great job performing covers of Ben Folds tunes. Here are two songs from the show, “Still Fighting” and “Losing Lisa”:
