Concerts on the Common

Learn about our upcoming concert season…

Our concerts are held on the Londonderry, New Hampshire Town Common. Our first concert, with the LHS jazz bands and rock orchestra, is on a Monday. The rest of the concerts are held on Wednesday evenings. They are all from 7:00 to 8:30.

The summer of 2015 will be our fourteenth season of concerts! We have another great schedule of diverse and talented performers. The artists and bands range from local groups to regional performers to nationally know acts. Our concerts have had performers from as far away as London and Nashville. If YOU have a favorite band or performer that you would like to have play for us, please email us at with your suggestions!

We have Kernals for College at every concert, offering concessions for all, and we also have an ice cream truck for the kids!

Weather Policy

We ALWAYS have a scheduled concert. If it is raining/bad weather,  then we move the concert to the Matthew Thornton gym or the Londonderry High School cafeteria (see the evening’s listing below for the evening’s alternate location). Both schools are  just north of the Common on Mammoth Road. Just park in the appropriate school’s parking lot and come on in the school’s front entrance!

See you at the concerts!

2015 Summer Concert Schedule

Concerts are from 7:00 to 8:30

1-June – Londonderry High Music Showcase featuring Jazz Lab, Rock Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble Groups

We always start out the concert season right –  and that means with our own jazz bands! This is the last concert for the Seniors in the band, and it is always a wonderful evening. And again this year we are including a performance by the LHS Rock Orchestra. This is a show that you don’t want to miss!

10 June – Bruce Marshall Group

We are very excited to welcome back Bruce Marshall. He played for us last summer with his band and James Montgomery, and they were, by all accounts, fantastic. They treated us to a soaring ride as they ripped through a catalog of original material that truly set the band apart. Led by Bruce, the musicianship of the entire group was front and center. This summer, we asked Bruce and his band to perform for us again. Be sure to join us for another awesome evening of Blues, R&B, Rock and Southern Boogie, sure to set the Common on fire!

17-June – Evan Goodrow

We were blown away last summer by this band! What a sound they brought to the Common. The “Evan Goodrow Band” live in a world that has Motown, jazz, blues, and dance influences bleeding into both their songwriting formats and their jamming abilities. And in the trio format setting, they produce a genuinely soul pounding sound. In short, it’s a lot of sound for three guys. We’ve been following Evan for a while now, and from the concert goers’ reaction to the band’s set last summer, we know that you will love the sound, too. This is going to be a rockin’ evening!

24-June – Manchuka

After the last two year’s tight tight performances and our audience’s enthusiastic reaction, we had to get them back! Manchuka is an exciting 10-piece dance band consisting of a full rhythm section, a full horn section and two lead singers.

The seasoned musicians in this group provide light jazz, big band swing and high energy dance music from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. The diverse backgrounds of Manchuka bring together many influences from the past and blend them with a new and contemporary feel. The result? An irresistible urge to get on your feet and dance!

This group plays music that they not only love, but music they believe in. It’s as real as it gets. So you are invited along, to listen and to move your body and soul to the deep musical groove of this unique blend of musicians.

01-July – NO CONCERT

8-July – HELP!

We had a request on our Facebook page for a Beatles tribute band this summer, and here it is! This band prides itself on the authenticity of their performance, capturing the sound, look, energy and spirit of the great Beatles catalog. They cover the entirety of the Beatles’ recording career, and also add vintage clothing and instruments to the show. One of the members of HELP! is Paul Lussier, a Londonderry resident. We love it when that happens! This will be a really fun evening – come on down to listen to a wonderful performance of all the Beatles songs we love to hear.

15-July – Ken Yates and Brian Dunne

We again welcome recording artists Ken Yates and Brian Dunne. They both performed for Concerts On The Common the past three years, and we wanted to get them back once again!

Brian Dunne was part of Boston’s music scene for many years before moving to New York City. His pop/rock style is widely influenced by Sam Cooke, Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen. A simplicity and devotion to his music making craft is what makes Brian’s music so authentic and addicting. Brian just released a CD, so come and check his wonderful new songs.

“Ken Yates’ music is solid as stone and clear as mountain air… he proves the future is in very good shape” – Livingston Taylor

Ken went to Berklee School of Music, and, writes songs that are…well, as John Mayer puts it, “Want to hear a great song? (I mean a REALLY great song?)”. Ken is always adding new songs to his YouTube page, so it is always fresh. Ken’s performance is not to be missed!

22-July – The Bedford Big Band

OK, now this is a BIG band. Twenty artists make up this orchestra, and their performance will remind everyone of the elegant and awesome bands of the 1930’s and 40’s. Their repertoire includes many of your favorite swing and Big Band standards, Latin rhythms, waltzes, R&B, as well as some exciting contemporary arrangements that you’re sure to enjoy. With great vocals and instrumentals, this band is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Travel with us back to a time of top hats and tuxs!

29-July – The Jandee Lee Porter Band

We’ve asked the Jandee Lee Porter Band to play for us at COTC the last two years, and for good reason. What great musicians! Americana, Folk, Country, Pop and Rock would be just some of the ways to describe this band. Everyone gave them rave reviews when they performed last year – their music was heart felt and honest. Professional musicians surround this songstress to form a band to be reckoned with. They are a remarkable five-piece band comprised of guitars, bass, drums, pedal steel and a powerful female lead singer.

In addition to original material, the Jandee Lee Porter Band performs cover songs that span sounds from yesterday and today. You’ll hear Miranda, Carrie and Little Big Town as well as Johnny, Patsy, John Prine and others. In the past, they have opened for such renowned country music artists as the Zac Brown Band, Reba McIntyre, Jo Dee Messina, Leeann Rimes, and Kellie Pickler.

5-August – Brian Templeton

Brian is one our all-time favorite performers. Period. And, from our concerts goers’ enthusiastic response, we know that you love him, too! Brian always seems to get everyone on their feet and clapping their hands. His brand of R+B, blues and country is simply unstoppable. Brian’s barrel-house belting style of singing, hot harmonica playing and exuberant onstage persona has garnered him a legion of fans in the U.S, Europe and beyond. He has toured as the frontman of the legendary Radio Kings, as a solo artist and has worked along side of some world class Blues stars, such as Otis Grand, James Cotton, Sonny Rhodes and recently with up and coming guitar wiz Enrico Crivellaro. The main thing he prides himself on is his ability to entertain his fans. “I don’t think of myself as a musician first but as a showman. I want my audience involved, whether it be by dancing, singing or just clapping along to the beat.” Brian is bringing a full band, including horns, this year. Anyone who has seen Brian perform in previous summers for us will tell you, they’ve never left his show unsatisfied.
